Green Valley Landfill is responsible for the design, building, operation and long-term aftercare of the South East New Territories (SENT) Landfill and SENT extension, which has been in operation since September 1994. It occupies a 113-hectare site with a capacity of about 50 million cubic metres and has been handling construction waste since January 2016. Sophisticated waste treatment technology is employed to minimize any negative impact on the environment. Landfill gas generated is converted into usable energy that delivers electricity to the site and is connected to the gas network.
