Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) has been committed to supporting the development of the Northern Metropolis. Recently, the company reached an agreement with the government on the land premium for a lease modification of a site in Kwu Tung South. The site will deliver more than 2,700 residential units with a total gross floor area (GFA) exceeding 1.2 million square feet—making it the largest residential development in the area in recent years. This project makes the best use of land resources in the Northern Metropolis and delivers high-quality homes to meet the strong housing demand created by the area’s comprehensive development.

Since the Northern Metropolis blueprint was unveiled, SHKP has led the way as the most active developer, with the most projects under development in the area. Including this latest project in Kwu Tung South, the company now has eight development projects in the Northern Metropolis, which will provide over 10,000 residential units with a total GFA of about 4.74 million square feet. Notably, SHKP concluded the first-ever land premium agreement for an in-situ land exchange in the Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen New Development Area last year. Other major projects include developments next to MTR Kwu Tung Station, in Area 10 of Fanling North, and in Tung Shing Lei, Yuen Long.
