SHKP-Kwoks’ Foundation supports outstanding students from CUHK

The SHKP-Kwoks’ Foundation has supported The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) for more than two decades in areas such as medical research and education. In 2005, the Foundation established a scholarship programme to support outstanding students with financial need at CUHK. Recently, Professor Anthony Chan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President of CUHK, and Professor Ko Wing-hung, Associate Vice-President of CUHK, led faculty members and scholarship recipients to meet with SHKP-Kwoks’ Foundation Executive Director Amy Kwok to share the latest development of the programme.

Ms Kwok said, “Sun Hung Kai Properties is committed to Building Homes with Heart and my late father Mr Kwok Tak-seng firmly believed in the importance of education and nurturing talent. The Foundation supports outstanding and hardworking students, encouraging them to pursue academic excellence and realize their potential.” She encouraged recipients to make the most of their studies at CUHK, broaden their horizons, and contribute to society in the future.

Professor Chan expressed his gratitude to the Foundation for its longstanding support and highlighted the strong partnership built over the years. He noted that the programme not only provides important financial assistance but also reflects the commitment of the business sector to working with universities to nurture future talent. Professor Ko added that CUHK greatly values the scholarship programme and is dedicated to ensuring its quality and effective implementation.

Scholarship recipients shared their appreciation for the Foundation’s support. They spoke about their learning experiences at CUHK as well as participation in overseas exchange programmes, internships, and community service activities, which have broadened their horizons and enriched their personal growth.

Since its establishment over 20 years ago, the SHKP-Kwoks’ Foundation has launched more than 80 charitable projects, providing over 75,000 instances of beneficiary support across nearly 30 universities, with cumulative donations exceeding RMB 740 million.
