SHKP-Kwoks’ Foundation and Tianjin University sign donation agreement for the fifth phase of the scholarship programme 

The SHKP-Kwoks’ Foundation (the Foundation) and Tianjin University signed a donation agreement for the fifth phase of the scholarship programme. SHKP-Kwoks’ Foundation Executive Director Amy Kwok and Li Jiajun, former Secretary of the CPC Tianjin Univeristy Committee, Chairman of the Tianjin University Peiyang Education Development Foundation, signed the agreement on behalf of the Foundation and the university, respectively.

Since establishment in 2009, the SHKP-Kwoks’ Foundation Tianjin University Scholarship Programme has been supporting outstanding students from financially disadvantaged families to complete their studies so that they can contribute to the country. The SHKP-Kwoks’ Foundation has donated to the scholarship programme over HK$13 million in total, benefitting nearly 2,500 students and it has become a well-respected scholarship programme. 

On behalf of the students, teachers and alumni of Tianjin University, Li Jiajun expressed his gratitude to the SHKP-Kwoks’ Foundation for its long-term support. He said he was impressed with the Foundation’s passion and dedication to education in the country. The Tianjin University Peiyang Education Development Foundation will continue to strengthen its management, combining project implementation and gratitude education to nurture high-calibre talent with a strong sense of social responsibility and global perspectives, he added.

Ms Kwok pointed out that education is a cornerstone of the country’s development and that over the years, the SHKP-Kwoks’ Foundation has donated to various institutions and supported the nurturing of talent for the country. The Foundation signed the agreement with the Tianjin University Peiyang Education Development Foundation to collaborate with Tianjin University to cultivate responsible, talented individuals for the country.  She sincerely hopes that students at Tianjin University will seize this opportunity and strive to achieve their best in their studies, empowering themselves and making valuable contributions to the country in the future.
