ICC wins BIM Projects award

A distinction for using BIM technologies to raise operational and management standards for the benefit of I&T development

The International Commerce Centre (ICC) of Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) was declared a winner of the BIM Projects category in the Celebration of BIM Achievement 2022, a contest co-organized by the Development Bureau and the Construction Industry Council. In recognition of ICC’s BIM & Digital Twins for Leasing and Property Management, the award demonstrated the Group’s unceasing efforts to innovate and change for the better, successfully using Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology to raise its operational efficiency and quality of management. The achievement was also seen to have fostered the development of Hong Kong’s construction industry and drew applause from both the government and the industry.

Managed by Kai Shing Management Services Limited, ICC is the tallest green building and one of the largest-scale transit-oriented development projects in Hong Kong. To maintain the premium service of ICC, SHKP has spared no effort to explore and harness breakthrough technologies to optimize its building performance, efficiency and sustainability. With the data accumulated by ICC since its completion as the basis, the team collaborated with a consultancy to create a digital twin, which allowed the use of three-dimensional BIM to analyse, anticipate and optimize the building’s performance, helping the property management team streamline daily operations. The Group has also continued to train its staff to ensure they acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to help significantly raise the operational efficiency of ICC.

Lo King-wai, General Manager (Office Leasing) of Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency, noted that ICC is an iconic building not only in Hong Kong but also in the world. Its tenants consist of multinationals and other renowned enterprises, who have a great vision of smart property management, as well as innovation and technology (I&T). He said: “The honour won by ICC in the BIM Projects category is a testament to our team’s high level of competence in the application of I&T and smart property management. By making the best of BIM technologies, we are able to provide tenants with professional management service.”

Featuring office, retail, hotel, entertainment and leisure facilities, ICC has created notable social and economic benefits and exceled in environmental protection, engineering and public safety, which is also a testament to its exceptional quality, sustainable value and contribution to the city’s development. The latest award won by ICC is very encouraging, and the Group will continue to promote smart property management and actively develop and introduce innovative technologies to drive the sustainable development of Hong Kong.
