$1.5 million from SHKP Hong Kong Cyclothon goes to Tai Po Fire Relief Fund
Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) and the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) announced that nearly $750,000 raised from the 2025 Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon (Cyclothon), together with a one-to-one matching donation from SHKP, amounting to $1.5 million in total, will be donated in full to The Community Chest Tai Po Fire Relief Fund. This donation aims to provide timely support to families and individuals affected by the Tai Po fire, reflecting SHKP’s commitment to “Sports for Charity”. SHKP expressed heartfelt gratitude to all donors who generously rallied behind this meaningful cause.
Organized by the HKTB with SHKP as the title and charity sponsor, the Cyclothon was originally scheduled for late November 2025 but was cancelled to allow the community to concentrate on recovery efforts following the Wang Fuk Court fire in Tai Po. With the consent of the donors, donations from participants in the CEO Charity and Celebrity Ride and other rides, together with approximately $750,000 from SHKP, will all go toward the relief fund.
Earlier, SHKP donated $20 million to assist affected residents and introduced a series of emergency measures, including the provision of 160 rooms across SHKP’s five Royal hotels as free temporary accommodation for those in need.
