With our belief in Building Homes with Heart, we work in collaboration with our business partners to incorporate innovation into our construction, achieving excellence through operating in a sustainable, safe, and efficient manner.

Pioneer that Introduces ‘Rotational Bridge Launching Construction’ in Hong Kong

SHKP applied the innovative rotational bridge launching construction to build two bridges that link The YOHO Hub to Yuen Long Station on the Tuen Ma Line. Being the first property developer in Hong Kong that adopts the technique, we performed the following construction process with extra care and preparation:

  • At the design phase, we gathered 300 experienced staff, consultants, specialist subcontractors and bridge and heavy-lifting experts from overseas, to assess and design the construction plan
  • During construction phase, we first set up a steel turntable system on site that connects the completed bridge structure to the system; the bridge structure, which was fixed and supported by vertical strand jack systems, was rotated 180 degree horizontally to the designated location within a short time
  • Eventually, the bridge was lowered slowly until it was firmly fixed to the pre-assembled permanent end bearing

Despite a higher cost, the technique enabled us to achieve better building quality and efficiency, and to create greater positive impacts on adjoining environment and community in following ways:

Despite a higher cost, the technique enabled us to achieve better building quality and efficiency, and to create greater positive impacts on adjoining environment and community in following ways:

  • The technique shortened construction time by nearly 60%, with such improved building efficiency, minimizing adverse impacts on nearby traffic and residents
  • We combined this technique with Building Information Modelling (BIM), and examined all potential hazards and possible solutions, ensuring the bridge can withstand the extreme events, for examples, hurricane-level wind forces. This ensure the safety of the users and the community nearby

Utilizing AI-based Innovation to Ensure Premium Standard of Building Quality

Robotic technology is leveraged to ensure high standards of building quality, efficiency, as well as resource management. As a case in point, SHKP is one of the pioneers that introduces AI-based glass-inspection robot with following features:

  • AI-based human perception defect prediction engine with fuse visual and geometric features
  • Laser illuminated multi-surface scanning system
  • Digital record system that traces flaw-checking record

With the built-in features, the Robot can achieve accurate inspection of facade glass with multi-layered surface, and detect line defect width greater than 0.1mm and mini dots with defect size greater than 0.5mm, which greatly enhances our monitoring on building quality.

Adoption of Robotic Technology to Perform High-risk Operations

Adoption of Robotic Technology to Perform High-risk Operations

SHKP seeks opportunities to replace high-risk and repetitive manual operations with innovative technology to prevent hazards caused by human errors and enhance the overall safety at construction site. Our Sai Sha project, for example, is considering using robots for painting and plastering.
