SHKP Love Nature campaign raises green awareness among staff and the public

Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) is committed to environmental protection and encourages staff and the community to appreciate nature with varied events as part of the SHKP G Power initiative.  More than 250 SHKP volunteers and primary students took part in a recent beach clean up and coastal excursion to put awareness of conservation into action.

SHKP staged a number of Love Nature beach and country park clean ups and collected over 5,000 kg of waste.  The recent event involved students, parents and teachers from five primary schools, along with SHKP volunteers, in a beach clean up at Ha Pak Nai in Tuen Mun.  Students got to see the pollution in coastal areas and reflected upon the impact people have on the environment.

There was also outdoor learning to raise green awareness among staff and the general public.  More than 100 SHKP volunteers and primary students and teachers went on a guided tour to gain a better understanding of coastal ecology at San Tau in Tung Chung.

San Tau has mudflats, mangroves and one of Hong Kong’s few sea grass beds, which provide habitats for a great diversity of marine life.  Participants learned about coastal ecology, marine animals and plants such as fiddler crabs and mudskippers and the importance of nature conservation through interactive games.
