Green Valley Landfill is responsible for the design, building, operation and long-term aftercare of the South East New Territories Landfill, which has been in operation since September 1994. It occupies a 100-hectare site with a capacity of 43 million cubic metres and can handle as much as 10,000 tonnes of construction waste each day. Sophisticated waste treatment technology is employed to minimize impacts on the environment. Landfill gas generated is converted into usable energy delivering electricity to the site and is supplied to the gas network.
