Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) won a 2008 Greater China Super Brand Property Developer award from East Week magazine for its history of building signature developments and delivering premium customer service both in Hong Kong and on the mainland.
National People's Congress Standing Committee member Rita Fan officiated at the award presentation. Nominated companies were evaluated on product quality, brand management, marketing strategy and corporate social responsibility. The judges included Joe Zhou Nan, Head of the Marketing Department at the City University of Hong Kong, Lau Pui-king from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Accounting and Finance, financial commentator Heung Shu-fai and newly-elected Legislative Councillor Paul Chan.
Building quality
SHKP has had a focused approach to mainland investments since the 1980s – maintaining a balanced portfolio of residential and commercial developments in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and other major cities. The newly-renovated Beijing APM has set a new standard for quality. Significant mainland projects now under way include Shanghai IFC, a mixed-use development on Huai Hai Zhong Road and the Wei Fong luxury waterfront residences.
Dedication is the key to success
A commitment to quality is the main reason for people’s trust in SHKP's reputation. The company has a vertically-integrated structure to manage all aspects of development from planning and design to construction and sourcing, project monitoring and property management, so that it can effectively control quality. The developer also believes in corporate social responsibility; supporting a variety of charities to help Hong Kong and the mainland.
