The Group is developing Shanghai International Commerce Centre on Huai Hai Zhong Road in the heart of the Puxi commercial area. The project will have convenient transport to attract high visitor traffic. Construction is progressing smoothly. This will be a major integrated development with retail, commercial and luxury residential space.
Prime location
The development is on Huai Hai Zhong Road in Xuhui near Luwan district, the heart of the commercial and retail zone in Puxi. It will be connected to an existing and two proposed mass transit stations at the convergence of three lines - line one now in place and lines ten and 12 under construction. Line ten will open before the World Expo this year. Two basement floors in the project will connect with the two proposed stations, boosting visitor traffic to the mall.
The project will have 3.5 million square feet of floor area in an eight storey shopping mall plus basement and car park, 28- and 32-storey office buildings and two 24-storey residential towers. The Group's development expertise and the prime location, top design and quality will make this a model for property projects in Shanghai.
Top names
The mall will be the most comprehensive premium shopping destination with facades and interiors designed by architects Benoy. It will cover 1.3 million square feet and house over 300 shops. Opening is scheduled for 2011.
Modern, green design
The development was planned to fit the surrounding cityscape. Extensive windows will let in sunlight and offer a modern, eco-friendly environment next to the greenery of Xiang Yang Park. A massive green belt is planned between Nan Chang and Xiang Yang Nan roads, and there will be green space at entrances and on the roof to add life to the development and provide attractive public space for the city.
