Love, in Time of Winter theme for ICC Light and Music Show
Small Words – Big Love catchphrases to be displayed on Hong Kong’s tallest skyscraper

2013-12-04

Winter is setting in and the ICC Light and Music Show now has a new Love, in Time of Winter theme and a Small Words – Big Love catchphrase competition. There will also be Christmas, New Year’s and Lunar New Year’s eve countdowns to spread festive cheer. Sun Hung Kai Properties produces the seasonal shows on the facades of International Commerce Centre (ICC) to promote positive energy in the community.

Spreading love and warmth

The winter show will be followed by words of love from family, friends and couples put into hearts on the ICC walls. The animation will fill up by layers to the top in a heart pattern until the whole ICC is full of love to make the world full of warmth.

The show lasts about five minutes and gives a romantic fairy-tale winter picture: snowflakes flying, blossoming plums, polar bears and penguins playing, a pair of swans in a heart pattern. There is also a Christmas tree decorated with sparkles, a Christmas snowman, presents for friends tied with pretty bows and champagne bubbling with laughter. At the end, love gradually fills the entire ICC accompanied by lively music and finally spreads warmth to the entire city.

A creative way to share love

Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency Retail Marketing and Customer Relations General Manager Cris Fung said: “The new seasonal theme is Love, in Time of Winter. Love has many dimensions − love at first sight, parental love and love through hard times. We encourage people to share their love by sending us their catchphrases. The most touching and inspiring entries will be displayed after the winter show.”

Ms Fung added that the nightly animation was produced specially for locals and visitors from around the world. Primary students were involved in creating stories for the autumn show for the first time. This seasonal show will involve more people with a social network catchphrase competition.

Small Words – Big Love catchphrases on ICC

The ICC Light and Music Show and Sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck are staging a Small Words – Big Love catchphrase competition on Facebook. The best catchphrases will be shown on the ICC facades to celebrate love with the public. There are four themes: ‘home is where the heart is’, ‘love should be in time’, ‘love has no boundaries’ and ‘to cherish love’. The winning entry on each theme will be displayed between 6 and 31 December after the shows at 7:45 pm and 9:00 pm.

The nightly spectacle made its debut this spring. The seasonal shows Amazing Spring, Sporty Summer and Hopeful Autumn were well received by the public. The latest Love, in Time of Winter show continues to spread positive energy and warmth.
